Chester?. Donald Roger Thomas Sr., 70, of Chester, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Chester Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held2:00PM, Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. John Porter officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Born December 10, 1939, in Chester, SC, a son of the late Charles and Emma Kee Thomas. He retired from Springs Industries, Eureka Plant and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Seabees, having served during Vietnam. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are his wife Dorothy Humphries Thomas, a son Donald Roger Thomas Jr. of Chester, SC, two grandchildren Lauren and Jamie Hudson, three brothers C.W. Thomas of Chester, SC, James Thomas of Lando, SC, Michael Thomas of Rock Hill, SC, one sister Shirley Dawkins of Lando, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00PM Monday, February 1, 2010, at Barron Funeral Home 133 Wylie Street Chester, SC, 29706.
