Donald Eugene Autry

Chester Mr. Donald Eugene Autry, 60, died Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at MUSC Health Chester Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Barron Funeral Home with Mr. Mark Huey officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Barron Funeral Home. Mr. Autry was born August 29, 1961 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Woodrow Autry and Joyce Wright Autry. Donnie was a graduate of Chester High School where he was a star athlete in baseball and football. He was employed with GAF for over twenty years and attended Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. Donnie enjoyed golf and was an avid Carolina Gamecock Fan and he also loved the LA Rams and Dodgers. He was extremely proud of his children and was able to fulfill his dream of seeing Trent excel in baseball and join the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is survived by his wife Susan Varnadore Autry; two children, Molly Autry Compton (Jamie) and Trenton Wright Autry both of Chester, SC; one grandson, Nathan Wright Compton; three brothers, Michael Autry (Susan) of Lancaster, SC, Tim Autry (Jane) of Suwanee, GA and Ronnie Autry (Tammy) of Surfside Beach, SC; two sisters, Sibby Cashwell of Elgin, SC and Cindy Evans (Chuck) of Great Falls, SC and numerus nieces and nephews.
