Dolly Marell Walters Wright

Dolly Marell Walters Wright, 93, died Monday, June 8, 2026, at her home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Woodward Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Hinson officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the church.

Born January 27, 1933 in Chester, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Luther Walters and Lillie Deese Walters.  Dolly was a graduate of Chester County Schools through the GED program and retired from Campus Sportswear as a payroll clerk.  She later worked with the Chester County Schools cafeteria system.  Dolly was a member of Woodward Baptist Church.  She enjoyed a simple life of sewing, gardening and tending her flowers.

She is survived by three children, Donald Ray Wright (Karen) of Chester, Linda Wright Jackson (Jimmy) of Blackstock and Karen Wright Clayton (Tommy) of Chester; seven grandchildren, Jay Jackson, Kate Laws (Scott), Candi Wright, Crystal McCarty (Jay), Donnie Wright (Nancy Blair), Trey Clayton and Andrea Marsh (Justin); several great and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Eva Neal (Gerald) of Rock Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her husband of over 43 years, Herman Ross Wright and her sons, Billy Ross Wright, Ronald Eugene Wright and James Richard "Bo" Wright.
