CHESTER, SC: Mrs. Dolly Elizabeth Millwood Mathews, 79, died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her residence.The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Barron Funeral Home.The funeral service will be 2:00 Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at First Baptist Church Lowrys with Reverend Michael Shaffer officiating.The interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Born June 4, 1937 in Pacolet, SC, Mrs. Mathews was a daughter of the late Douglas Monroe Millwood and Sue Arnold Millwood.She attended the schools of Spartanburg, York, Richland Counties.She was retired from Springs Industries as an inspector and was an excellent homemaker.She was a member of First Baptist Church Lowrys.She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Lanier “Red” Mathews and a sister and brother-in-law Katherine and Johnny Weaver . She is survived by two daughters, Carol Cameron (Tim) and Linda Mathews (Richard Grant) both of Chester; one son, Eddie Mathews (Melba) of Chester; four grandchildren, Bill Roof and Anna Roofand Todd and Lee Mathews all of Chester; three great grandchildren, Mikale, Ava and Ameila and one sister Diane Boulware (Monty) of Chester.
