CHESTER Mr. Dock Homer Price, 92, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at his home after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Chester Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church with Rev. Clint Davis and Dr. Dwight L. Pearson officiating. Interment will follow at Old Purity Cemetery.Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday in the Barron Room at Chester A.R.P. Church and other times at the home. Mr. Pricewas born September 6, 1924 in Catawba County, NC and was a son of the late Thomas Smith Price and Etta Laura Cline Price. He graduated from Hickory High School in 1941 and joined the Army serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he attended N.C. State University graduating in 1950 with a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry. Mr. Price worked for Canal Wood Corporation and eventually opened his own forestry consulting business in Chester County and was also a well-known land surveyor. He married Dorothy Bennett of Chester on March 23, 1958. They were married 58 years prior to her death on March 28, 2016.Mr. Price was a member of Chester A.R.P. Church where he formerly served as a Deacon. He is survived by two daughters, Gina Price White and her husband, Russ; Glinda Price Coleman and her husband Scott; and two granddaughters, Anne Coleman and Laura Coleman, all of Chester.
