Mr. Dewey Lee McWatters, 78, of 128 Lancaster Highway, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Chester Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will be 2:00 Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Orrs Baptist Church with Reverend Randall Runion and Rev. Curtis Marshall officiating.Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Born on May 19, 1930 in Chester County, SC, the son of the late James McWatters and Bessie Jeanette Quinton McWatters. Mr. McWatters attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Electric Motor Repair in Rock Hill. He was employed as a security Guard with Schumacher and he was also a farmer.He was a member of Orrs Baptist Church. He formerly served in the South Carolina National Guard Company F 218 Infantry Division. He is survived by two step-sonsKim and Lee Smith both of Chester; one step-granddaughter; one step great grandchild; five brothers, Bob, Carl, Jessie of Chester and Grady of Gilbert, SC and Gene of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Minnie McWatters of Chester and Eva Simmers of Rock Hill, SC.He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Albert and James Thomas and one sister Elizabeth King. He was the widower of Betty Bryant Smith. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 8:00 pm Monday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC.
