Chester Mr. Derek Bret McCollum, 61, died Monday, October 14, 2019, at MUSC-Chester Medical Center.A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 18, 2019, at Hillside Cemetery with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating. Mr. McCollum was born March 24, 1958 in Granite City, Illinois and was a son of William Edward McCollum and Myrtle Hazel Eastep McCollum.He was a high school graduate through the GED program and was formerly self employed as a small engine mechanic.Mr. McCollum was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith. He is survived by two sisters, Devray Shireen of Venezia, AZ and Jennifer Robin Marshall (Chris) of Chester, SC; and four brothers, Brian McCollum and Chris McCollum (Darlene) both of East Alton, IL, Dean McCollum (Sondra) of Monroe, NC and Peter McCollum (Sreyan) of Kershaw, SC.
