Dennis Montgomery Groner

d. September 22, 2022

Dennis Montgomery Groner, 74 of Edgemoor, SC, passed away fulfilling his purpose and life’s mission, Thursday, September 22, 2022. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Barron Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 15, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Born in Mecklenburg County, NC, he was the son of the late Johnsie Clawson Bardo, George Harold Groner, and lovingly raised by his grandmother, Cora Clawson. Dennis was a proud husband, father, father in-law, grandfather, brother, neighbor and friend. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Air Force National Guard and Army Reserve. Upon completing his service in the military, he continued his journey as a respected and successful business owner, engineer, general contractor and professional craftsman. He was a lover of quality Quarter Horses, trail riding, great movies, classic cars, “shop time”, custom woodworking, Native American art, a broad variety of fine music, “food for thought” conversations and above all, his devoted family. “Our Daddy built what was imagined, fixed what was broken and taught valuable life survival skills. He healed with his hugs, words of wisdom and encouragement. “Remember who you are” and “Never give up” are just a few of the values he impressed upon us. He taught us respect and to demand it in return, how to ride a horse, operate equipment, and properly use tools. We are forever grateful for his countless blessings. His legacy and eternal bond will continue to grow in undying strength.” Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Melinda Archer Groner; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brandi Groner Turnipseed (Lee), Julia Groner Reese (Rick) and Allison Groner Wolters (Christian); and three amazing grandchildren, Ryan, Holt and Jaxon. Dennis cherished the love and fellowship of his brothers, sisters and extended family, Reggie Bardo(Monica), Lonnie Bardo(Debbie), Robbie Bardo(deceased)(Lisa), Darrell Clawson(Kay), Carla B. Gallenbeck, Dot C. Brazzell(deceased), Shirley C. Shope-Harris(deceased); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
