CHESTER ? Mr. Delton J. ?Del? Cranford, 87, died Monday, September 22, 2008 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, SC. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Reverend Clay Waldrip officiating.Burial will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Born February 16, 1921 in Eastman, Georgia, Mr. Cranford was the son of the late Lloyd Judson and Vera Fordham Cranford.He was a graduate of Chester High School and attended Duke Universityand retired from Chester County Hospital after thirty years service.He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII and a member of First Baptist Church of Chester. Surviving are his wife Maude Ruth Clark Cranford; two sons Roger D. Cranford and his wife Michelle of Blythewood, SC and Michael C. Cranford and his wife Martha of Fuquay Varina, NC; one grandson Reed Cranford of Blythewood, SC; one sister Lucille Haire of Rock Hill, SC; four brothers Bill and Gene Cranford both of Rock Hill, SC, Jack Cranford of California and David Cranford of Summerville, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester.
