The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Barron Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Lando Cemetery. Della was one of 12 children of the late John and Della Watts of Richburg. She is proceeded in death by five brothers, four sisters and her three daughters; Bonnie Shaw, Rhonda Hefner and Sue Curtis. She is survived by one brother, Sam Watts; one sister, Joyce Hall; and two daughters; Ann Willard and Kay Plyler. A proud native of Lando, Della dedicated much of her time at Lando Manetta Mills working in the cloth room and producing textiles. She spent her life pouring love, kindness, and laughter into all who knew her. A woman with a giving heart and an unwavering spirit, she devoted herself to taking care of her family and helping others—whether it was giving a haircut, hemming clothes, cleaning a friend’s home, cooking and delivering a warm meal to someone in need… anything that she could do to help someone, she did it. Della was the proud matriarch of a large family. She was the loving mother of five daughters, and her legacy continues to grow through her 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Her love knew no bounds, and she was a constant presence in the lives of those she cared about. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: Sunday afternoons on the porch in Lando surrounded by family, having a good laugh, telling a funny joke, a new pair shoes, a pretty new purse, the rhythm of her favorite music, a good Merle Haggard tune and dancing the ‘two step’ with friends late into the night. Some of her happiest moments later in life were spent at Blackstock Station on Friday nights, where laughter, bluegrass music, and friendship filled the air. Della’s life was one of service, love, and joy. Her legacy will live on not only in the generations of family she leaves behind but also in the countless lives she touched with her generosity and warmth. Memorials may be made to Lando - Manetta Mills History Center, 3801 Lando Road Lando, SC 29729. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.barronfuneralhome.com.
