Debra Lou Melton Henson

Richburg Mrs. Debra Lou "Debbie" Melton Henson, 62, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 5, at Edgemoor ARP Church with Rev. Allen Derrick officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, November 4, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. Henson was born September 28, 1951 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late Bobby Brantley Melton and Sara Wilks Melton.She was a graduate of Chester High School and York Tech and retired from Omnova Solutions where she worked as a lab technician.Mrs. Henson was a member of Edgemoor ARP Church.She enjoyed visiting her home in the mountains and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Ricky; her daughter, Brandee Barnes and husband Jamie of Edgemoor; two grandsons, Chase and Jayden Barnes of Edgemoor; two sisters, Denise Thompson and husband Mark of Rock Hill and Jodie Salley and husband Maynard of Columbia; stepmother, Susan Melton of Columbia; stepbrother, Russell Shannon of Drumore, Pennsylvania; two nieces, Jordan Thompson and Logan Salley both of Columbia; one nephew, Hunter Thompson of Rock Hill.Debbie also leaves behind a special aunt and uncle, Peggy and Bo Kee of Richburg.In the last years of her life, she was blessed to have wonderful caregivers, Betty Crockett, Mary Stevenson and Tammy Craine.
