Dean Stephenson

Mr. Michael Dean "High Pockets" Stephenson, 55, died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at his residence. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Lowrys with Rev. Michael Shaffer and Rev. Den Parker officiating. The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Barron Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, Patsy and Marion Brantley, 1299 Lowrys Highway, Chester. Born September 17, 1956 in Chester, Dean was a son of the late Joe H. Stephenson and Mattie Mae Estes Stephenson. He attended Chester High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lowrys. Dean was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He enjoyed raising chocolate labs, having two favorites, Frankie and Jesse. As a hunting guide, Dean said in his own words, ?I got paid for something I loved to do?. He is survived by caregiver, Jacki Wilson and her husband Ray of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Wayne Stephenson of Chester; three sisters, Jeanette Thomas and her husband Jesse, Patsy Brantley and her husband Marion and Dianne Sisk and her husband Sisko all of Richburg and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Joe Harold Stephenson. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lowrys, 3981 Armenia Road, Chester, SC 29706.
