Chester Mr. David Wilson “Hook” Garner, Jr., 91, died Thursday, November 02, 2017 at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, SC.The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at First Church of the Nazarene.A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Brian Howard officiating.Interment will be private. Born January 21, 1926 in Clinton, SC, Mr. Garner was a son of the late David W. Garner, Sr. and Ruth Eubanks Garner.He attended the schools of Clinton, SC and retired from Springs Industries.Mr. Garner attended the First Church of the Nazarene and also Westside Baptist Church.Hook was a friend to many people. Mr. Garner was preceded in death by a son, David “Randy” Garner; a daughter, Teresa Hullander Eavenson; his wife of over 66 years, Essie Hedgepath Garner; and a grandson, Paul W. “Tracy” Hullander, III.He is survived by a son, Freddie Joe Garner of Chester, SC; a daughter, Sandra G. Bush of Chester, SC; six grandchildren, Tammy Garner, Roxanne Hullander, Angie K. Barber, David Knox (Wendy), Tony Garner and Joey Knox; ten great grandchildren, Jeffrey Barber, Tristan Eldreth, Kaylyn Knox, Will Holt, Lauren Garner, Holly Rose Knox, Jordan Barber, Kyle Knox, Joelie Knox, and Jase Knox; one great-great granddaughter, Sailor Kate Myers; and his furry friend “Pretty Boy Floyd”.
