Chester Mr. Daniel David Clayton,80, died Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at his home. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC 29706. He was born March 10, 1939 in Marion, NC and was a son of the late L.H. Clayton and Lucy Taylor Clayton. He was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC and was retired from Durham Life Insurance Company. Daniel was known as “ Softball Paw Paw ” because of his great love for the sport. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Clayton is survived by one son Danny D. “Red” Clayton of Chester, SC; one daughter, Donna Lynn Coley (Buck) of Blackstock, SC; two grandchildren, Blake Stephens (Brittany) of Chester, SC and Lexi Coley of Blackstock, SC; two great-grandchildren, Rhylei Stephens of Chester, SC and Sailor Stephens of Chester, SC; two sisters, Bobbie Pressley and Opal Burris both of Kannapolis, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.
