CHESTER: Mrs. Cynthia Irene Dickey Thompson, 88, died Friday, March 3, 2017 at her residence.A graveside service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Joey Shetley officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Born May 13, 1928 in Chester, SC, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late John Young Dickey and Janie (Dickey) Dickey.She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries.She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Brison Thompson, Sr. and a daughter Barbara Thompson Lunsford. She is survived by one son, Earl B. Thompson, Jr. (Becky) of Chester, SC; six grandchildren, Darlene Gibson (Timmy), Anthony Thompson (Sherrie) both of Chester, Gina Grant (Dwayne) of Union, SC, Holly Hatchell (Brian), Roy Lunsford (Lori) and Gene Lunsford all of Chester; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
