Craig Allen Youmans

Apr 26, 1956 — Aug 18, 2026

[CHESTER,SC] — Craig Youmans, 70, of Chester, SC, passed away unexpectedly – but just as he would have wished – working. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, who loved him deeply and knew he was always one they could count on.

Craig was raised in Southern Tier of NY (NOT NYC) as he would quickly tell you. In 1990, he met the love of his life, Billie Jo, and God blessed them with 36 years of loving one another well. Craig spent his career as a tractor-trailer driver and demonstrated a steady, hardworking spirit that impacted every part of his life – fun, ministry, and just day-to-day life. He loved the outdoors and was always ready for a new adventure.

A personal faith in Christ became his guiding light, leading him to serve his church and community. He was man of true gentleness and sincere love that leaves behind a legacy that will not be erased by grief but the hearts of his family and many friends are broken. He would love to have you praying for his wife, Billie Jo; his daughter, Riesa; his son, Rusty; his cherished grandson, Ronin, his sister, Lynette and sister-in-law, Ruth as they learn to navigate life without him. But Craig loved far beyond the ones he poured into so faithfully. He would love for you to be asking God to fill up each broken heart – he hated to see anyone hurt.

We would love to have you join us as we celebrate Craig – we’ve talked about some of our precious memories -- fishing, hiking, coffee, donuts, mountain dews, racing, hockey, football, father-daughter dates, and lately lots of parks and zoos with ‘little man.’ Come share your memories.

A celebration of Craig’s life will be held this Saturday at Chester State Park. Drop-in hours will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the memorial service beginning at 1:00 PM. Guests should inform the park gate attendant that they are attending Craig's service to waive the park entry fee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you bring a donation for the local food pantry where he volunteered. A donation van will be parked on-site at Chester State Park so attendees can load food items directly onto it during the services.

Though their world is permanently changed, his family rests in the comfort of Christ, knowing Craig is watching over them from heaven. His legacy is woven into the very fabric of his family, and they rest in the promise that they will see him again soon.
