Fort Lawn, SC:Mrs. Connie Broadway Morton, 70, died Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, NC.The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Barron Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Richburg with Rev. John Parris and Rev. Danny Hedgepath officiating.The interment will be at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Born August 6, 1945 in Limestone, AL, Mrs. Morton was a daughter of the late Charles and Lottie McCown Broadway.She attended the schools of East High School in Nashville, TN and was a homemaker.Mrs. Morton was a member of First Baptist Church of Richburg, SC.She was also a member of the Caroline Jenkins Confederate Rose’s and active with Sons of Confederate Veteran’sand also the S.C. 6th Reenactors.She was proud of her southern heritage. She is survived by her husband of over fifty-three years, Jack J. Morton, Jr.; four children, Helen Blackwell and her fiancé David, Jay Morton and his wife Dawn, Beth Hempton and her husband Andy and Lynn Cartagena and her husband Tony all of Fort Lawn, SC; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four brothers, her twin brother, Donnie Broadway of Joelton, TN, Charles Broadway of Summerset, KY, Robert Broadway, Mt. Juliet, TN and Ralph Broadway of Louisville, KY; four sisters, Betty Thompson of Fort Lawn, SC, Gerene Simmons of Nashville, TN, Louise Powell of Smyrna, TN, Loranie Murphy of Nashville, TN.She was preceded in death by a grandson, Johnny Hempton, a great granddaughter, Charlie Faith Hempton; two sisters, Shirley Hill and Christine Ferguson and three brothers, Donald, Howard and Herman Broadway.
