Collin Blake Roberts

July 13, 2005 — March 7, 2021

Collin Blake Roberts, 15, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021, after a long, brave battle against brain cancer. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Tabernacle Ministries in Great Falls, SC, with Pastors Kenny Compton and Larry Linderman officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Barron Funeral Home in Chester. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Great Falls. Collin was born on July 13, 2005, in Columbia, South Carolina. He grew up in Chester County where he attended Lewisville Schools since the age of 3. He was medically withdrawn this year, but would have been a 10th grader at Lewisville High School. Collin lived a full and meaningful life that was shaped but not defined by ependymoma, a brain tumor he was diagnosed with at the age of 2. He was a sweet, well mannered, kind, courageous warrior who inspired all who knew him. With his unfaltering smile, his messages of faith and strength in the face of adversity, grace, mercy, unity, and love resonated with not only his family, friends, school, community, and county, but far beyond.Collin was obviously all that was good in this world. He was, after all, a real superhero. Collin loved fishing and was a superhero fanatic. He was an avid gamer and enjoyed watching YouTube videos when he couldn’t get outdoors. Collin was also an avid fan of Carolina Panthers and Carolina Gamecocks. From a young age, he aspired to be a police officer. He was able to live that dream by being sworn in as an officer in July 2016, by the City of Chester Police Department. His dedication to law enforcement came from a desire to help others and make the world a better place. Collin will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Joe and Tessa Roberts, his two sisters, Katie (17) and Blakely (8), paternal grandfather, Richard Collins, maternal grandparents, Rickey and Linda Crouch, and Eugene (Lynn) McMurray and great grandmother Earlene “Jean” Garner. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Collin was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Louise Collins. In lieu of flowers, Collin would ask that you please consider a donation in his memory to support childhood cancer research — Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation 302 Ridgefield Court, Asheville, NC 28806 or Cure Search PO Box 45781, Baltimore, MD 21297-5781 or Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, 111 Presidential Blvd., Suite 203, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004 USA or St. Baldrick’s Foundation 1333 South Mayflower Avenue Suite 400 Monrovia, CA 91016, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
