Coleman Eugene "Gene" Houston

Chester, SC: Mr. Coleman Eugene “Gene” Houston, 62, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends anytime at the home.A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Born June 30, 1955 in Chester, SC, Mr. Houston was a son of the late Roy and Jane West Houston.He was a graduate of Chester High School and York Technical College and employed with Volvo North America in Dublin, VA.Mr. Houston attended Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.He was an avid Harley-Davidson fan and a member of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America local Chester Chapter.He also enjoyed riding horses and street rodding.Gene loved rebuilding and restoring Hot Rods and Street Rods. He is survived by his wife of over forty-four years, Cathy Price Houston; two daughters, Tracey Houston Smith (Russell) of Chester and Colene Houston (Ken Ward) of Union, SC; ten grandchildren, Cole Pendergrass of Charlotte, NC, Sabrina Smith, Jacob Pentergrass and Gabriel Pendergrass all of Chester, SC, Nicholas Smith of San Diego, CA, Jacob Smith of Pensacola, FL, Emory Smith of Fort Mill, SC, Houston Ward and Justin Ward both of Union, SC and Kensley Ward of Lexington, SC and one sister, Vickie Miller of Chester.He was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Houston.
