Spartanburg, SC Mr. Clyde Sheppard Walters, Jr., 84, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at White Oak Manor in Spartanburg.A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2013, at Barron Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating.Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mr. Walters was born December 3, 1928 in Lancaster County, SC and was a son of the late Clyde S. Walters, Sr. and Myrtle Smith Walters.He was a graduate of Mt. Zion High School in Winnsboro and attended York Tech.Mr. Walters served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, retired from Springs Industries as a supervisor, and was a member of Chester American Legion Post 9 where he achieved 40-8 status.
