Clive Hugh Johnson

World War II veteran Clive Hugh Johnson, 94, died Saturday, October 17, 2020, at his home.Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd., Columbia, SC with Rev. Danny Keever officiating. Mr. Johnson was born August 8, 1926, in Dunn, NC and was a son of the late Edgar Garland Johnson and Bessie Bell Cantrell Johnson.He attended the schools of Fayetteville, NC and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II.Mr. Johnson was owner and operator of Clive Security and Investigation.Clive was a member of the DAV in Columbia, SC.He was a talented guitarist and enjoyed playing and singing music. He also enjoyed science, continuous learning, gardening and most of all his family. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol Sue Cornwell Johnson; his children, Monitte Hull (James) of TX, Michele Harrison (Paul) of AZ, Meloney Hall of OH, Marcia Bryan (Chris) of TX, Sherry Chevrier (Phil) of SC, Rhonda Kitchen (Billy) of TN, Carol June Hargett (Brian) of SC, Clive Hugh Johnson, II (Kelly) of SC; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Ramona Kirk of NC and Delores Lee of NC; and one brother, Ripon Johnson of NC.Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by two brothers, Boyd Johnson and Jessie Garland Johnson and two sisters, Glendora Shay and Faye Stockton.
