Chester Mr. Clarence Hershel Sullivan, 83, died Monday, September 14, 2015, at Palmetto Village in Chester.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at CoolBranch Baptist Church with Rev. John Epps officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Tuesday, September 15, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mr. Sullivan was born August 24, 1932 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Clyde H. Sullivan and Inez Proctor Sullivan.He was a graduate of Chester High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Korea.Mr. Sullivan retired from Winnsboro Petroleum and was also owner and operator of Sullivan’s Refrigeration.He was a member of Cool Branch Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of over 21 years, Mamie Faulkner Sullivan; one daughter, Charleen Thigpen of Winnsboro; one son, Scottie Sullivan of Chester; two grandchildren, Katie Walters of Hinesville, Ga. and Calee Thigpen of Winnsboro; one great granddaughter, Karrah McFadden of Hinesville, Ga.; three stepchildren, Genise Self, Ellis Tanner and Billy G. Tanner, Jr. all of Winnsboro; and two brothers, Mike Sullivan and Terry Sullivan both of Chester.Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by one sister, Linda S. Lucas and two brothers, Dexter Sullivan and Wayne Sullivan. Memorials may be made to Cool Branch Baptist Church, 10726 State Hwy. 215 N., Blair, SC 29015.
