Clarence Albert Henderson: Chester, SC On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Clarence A. Henderson passed away at the age of 81 at St. Francis Hospital at Greenville, SC. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Friday, August 5th, 2022 at Wilksburg Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 5th, 2022 at Wilksburg Baptist Church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Burial will be in Wilksburg Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Henderson was born in Greer, South Carolina on August 20th, 1940 and was the son of the late Eugene and Ruth (Andrews) Henderson. Albert was retired from Springs Industries, Chester, SC as a Weaver Instructor. Albert was an active member of Wilksburg Baptist Church, Chester, SC where he served as Deacon, served on many church committees, sang in the Church choir, involved with the yearly vacation bible school activities and was always helping with whatever the church needs required. Albert was a man who enjoyed the youth and the many activities he participated with them. Throughout the years Albert enjoyed many activities that touched everyone who he was with. He was a bowler, softball player, deer hunter, golfer, fisherman and a Christian man who touched the lives of everyone he met. Alberts calling and passion was being a gospel singer. Albert’s gospel singing ministry started with the group called the Pathlighters. Years later a group was formed called Crossed Hearts. Both groups would sing at nursing homes, churches, community centers, benefits and fundraisers for persons who were sick or in need of assistance. Albert’s singing was his calling and talent for reaching out to the community and ministering to others while serving the Lord. Albert loved his family and will be missed by everyone he touched. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Hunter and Bobbie Williford both of Chester, SC; he is survived by his wife of over sixty-three years, Mary Gregory Henderson; his brother Arthur Henderson of Van Wyck, SC; his sister Syble Wilson of Myrtle Beach, SC; one daughter, Robin Getz (Alan) of Inman, SC; one grandchild, Amber Price (Chris) of Greenville, SC; two great grandchildren, DeLaney and Amalia Price.
