CHESTER: Mrs. Christine McMaster Harris, 89, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at her home.The funeral will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Shepard officiating.The interment will be at Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in the sanctuary of the church and other times at the home, 109 Hemphill Avenue. Born June 2, 1925 in Winnsboro, SC, Mrs. Harris was a daughter of the late James Fleming McMaster, Jr and Christine Gooding McMaster and the widow William M. Harris, Sr.She was a graduate of Mt. Zion Institute and Winthrop College Class of 1946 and retired from the Chester County School District as a High School Business Teacher.Mrs. Harris was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was an active part of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.She enjoyed playing Bridge with several local clubs and also was a member of the Diversity Study Club and a former member of Springs Senior Citizens and an avid Clemson fan. She is survived by one son, William M. Harris, Jr. (Beverly) of Maryville, TN; three daughters, Chris Harris of Dillon, SC, Mary Lake Grant of Anderson, SC and Beth Harris of Chester, SC; six grandchildren, Christy Hewitt, Trey Grant, Will Grant, Kyle Harris, Kirk Harris and Kody Harris; nine great grandchildren,Christy Lake Hewitt, Elizabeth Lee Hewitt, Mary Elliott Hewitt, Riley Harris, Zoe Harris, Easton Harris, Haley Grant, Liam Grant andLaken Grant; two sisters-in-law, Rebecca Morgan McMaster and Joann Woods McMaster; brother-in-law, Jack C. McCormac, and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Fleming McMaster, III, Col. Robert Gooding McMaster, and Dr. Spencer Rice McMaster, infant sister, Ella Elliott McMaster, sister, Mary McMaster McCormac and sister-in-law, Evelyn Sloan McMaster.
