Mr. Charlie Blackwell, 81, of 2126 Pressley Road died Wednesday at Chester Regional Medical Center. The funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Irvin Plowden officiating.Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Born September 18, 1927 in Blacksburg, South Carolina, Mr. Blackwell was the son of George Franklin Blackwell and Beulah Hoag Blackwell.He attended schools of Chester County and was retired from Ford Motor Company in Wixsom, MI.He was a US Navy veteran during WWII and a member of Capers Chapel United Methodist Church.He was the widower of Daisy Johnson Blackwell. Surviving are one daughter, Linda Champion of Chester; four grandchildren, Brandy Lovaas of Chester, Tamara Henson of Santa Cruz, California, Charlie Mike Henson of Illinois and Randy Henson of Villa Grove, Illinois; seven great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Sudie Clack and Grace Johnson both of Chester.He was preceded in death by a daughter Shirley Henson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC.
