CHESTER Mr. Charles Evans Timme, 88, USAF Retired, died July 14, 2010 at the Chester Regional Nursing Center in Chester, SC.Agraveside service with full military honors will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Evergreen Cemetery with Reverend Michael Shaffer officiating. Born July 25, 1921 in Chester, SC, Mr. Timme was a son of the late Legie and Charles E. Timme, Sr.He served in the US Air Force in both World War II and Viet Nam.Following his retirement from the military, he was an ROTC instructor at Sumter High School, Sumter, SC and was retired as the Circulation Manager from Chester News and Reporter.He was an avid bird watcher and an outdoorsman.Mr. Timme was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chester. He is survived by his granddaughter, Mobley T. Hope and her husband Jamie of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Jane C. Hearn and her husband J.R. of Columbia, SC.Mr. Timme was preceded in death by his beloved wife Alice C. Timme on June 15, 2010 and also his son, Jack Timme and his brother Bill Timme.
