Rock Hill, SC Mr. Charles Junior Tate, 86, died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.The funeral service will be 2:00 Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Rock Hill with Rev. Tony Slawson officiating.The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church, 830 N. Jones Avenue, Rock Hill and other times at the home of his daughter Amanda J. Tate. The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens, 945 West End Road, Chester, SC. Born July 26, 1928 in Forest City, NC, Mr. Tate was a son of the late Avery Enoch Tate and Mattie Elizabeth Tate.He was a graduate of Kings College in Charlotte, NC and retired from Campus Trucking Company and also worked with McLean Trucking.He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he taught the men’s Sunday School Class.Mr. Tate was a Gideon and an accomplished musician.He was preceded in death by his wife Agnes Harvey Tate and two sisters, Hazel Tate Pearson and Betty Tate Bridges. He is survived by one daughter, Amanda Joy Tate of Rock Hill, SC, a nephew, Donnie Pearson (Shirley) of Kings Mountain, NC and other nieces and nephews and one brother Bobby Tate (Kay) of Kings Mountain, NC.
