CHESTER Mr. Charles O’Connor Moore, 82, died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Chester with Father David Runnion officiating. The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.The Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Barron Funeral Home with a visitation following from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Born March 11, 1930 in Summerville, SC, Mr. Moore was the son of the late Alexander and Anna Ray Moore.He was a graduate of Summerville High School and The Citadel and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the Korean War.Mr. Moore was retired from South Carolina Department of Transportation as a District Maintenance Engineer and was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and an avid runner and horse enthusiast. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-four years, Janice Breaux Moore; two daughters, Maureen L. Moore of Chester and Melissa M. Blackwell and her husband Andy Silance of Jacksonville, NC; two sons, Edward O’Connor Moore and wife Blair of Rock Hill, SC and Dennis O’Connor Moore and wife Angie of Chester; six grandchildren, Courtney Blackwell, Carley Blackwell, Alyson Moore, Connor Moore, Anna Moore and Alex Moore; one great grandson, Sylus Havrilla and one sister, Jeanette Bowers of Carlsbad, CA.
