CARLISLE?Mr. Charles Ellis Levister, 58, died Friday, November 21, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Monday at Barron Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Mike Black officiating.Burial will be at Cool Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Chester, SC,Mr. Levister was a son of the late Robert and Geneva Ramey Levister. He attended the schools of Chester County, was a member of Cool Branch Baptist Church and was the former Chief of Leeds Fire Department .Mr. Levister was the owner and operator of Levister Logging. Surviving is his wife: Gail D. Levister, three sons Chuck Levister, Logan Patrick, and Charles E. Levister, Jr. all of Chester, seven sister, Sally Aragon and Linda Levister both of Chester, SC, Mary Mobley of McConnells, SC, Shirley Branham of Winnsboro, SC, Barbara Freeman and Carolyn Bowie both of Greenwood, SC and Betty Smith of Union. Mr. Levister was preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Slack and a brother Robert Levister. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Sunday evening at Barron Funeral Home.
