Edgemoor, SC: Mr. Charles Lester Culp, 87, died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. A graveside service will be held 1:30 PM Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Edgemoor Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery followed by a 2:00 PM Memorial Service in Edgemoor Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church with Reverend Bob Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church. Born January 31, 1930 in Edgemoor, SC, Mr. Culp was a son of the late Max and Margaret Jane Westbrook Culp.He was a graduate of Lewisville High School and Nashville Diesel Tech in Nashville, TN. Mr. Culp was a veteran of the Navy and then the Air Force having served during the Korean War as a Chief Master Sergeant and later served in the Army Reserve.He was a member of Edgemoor Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Mr. Culp was also a member of the American Legion and Richburg Masonic Lodge # 89 and previously served on the Chester County School Board. He is survived by wife of over fourteen years, Florence Mitchell Pearson Culp;his sons, Ricky Culp of Belmont, NC, Reid Culp and his wife Barbie and Robbie Culp and his wife Donette both of Edgemoor; step-son, Rev. C. Warren Pearson and his wife Susan of Ft. Worth, TX; step-daughter, Cynthia Rose P. Mills and her husband Rick of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Sarah Owens of N. Augusta, SC, Nancy Runager and her husband Geb of Orangeburg, SC, Mary Calvart of LaPlata, Maryland and Ann Colvin and her husband Penn of Edgemoor, SC; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Mr. Culp was preceded in death by his first wife, Lutie Sherer Culp and his brothers Dr. Max A. Culp and Boyd Culp and a step son-in-law Rick Mills. Memorials may be made to Edgemoor Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 2135 Starnes Road, Edgemoor, SC 29712
