CHESTER Mr. Charles Calvin Clayton, 72, died Friday, December 6, 2013 at his residence.The service will be held Monday, December 9, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the First Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend James Sanders officiating. The interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.The family will be receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Barron Funeral Home. Born on September 20, 1941 in Marion, NC, Mr. Clayton was the son of the late Rev. L. H. and Lucy Taylor Clayton.He was previously employed as store manager in retail grocery and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. He survived by a daughter Becky Thompson and her husband Chris of Chester; two sons, Brian Clayton of Chester and Greg Clayton and his wife Kim of York; two sisters, Bobbie Pressley and Opal Burris of Kannapolis, NC; one brother, Daniel Clayton of Chester; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Flynn Clayton and by a brother, Billy Clayton.
