Richburg, SC:Charles Lewis Clawson, 90, died Tuesday, September11, 2012 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice Housein Rock Hill, SC. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 14, 2012 at Union Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church with Reverend Allen Derrick officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the fellowship hall of the church. Interment will be held in Union Cemetery, Richburg, SC . Mr. Clawson was born in Richburg, SC on January 20, 1922, a son of the late Jacob Harris Clawson and Gweneth Gale Bratton Clawson. He was a graduate of Richburg High School, Spartanburg Methodist Jr. College and Presbyterian College of Clinton.Mr. Clawson was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during World War II and was retired from Essex Corporation. He was a member and elder of Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church and a member of Richburg Masonic Lodge #89.Mr. Clawson was the widower of Katherine Simon Clawson. He is survived by one brother, Jacob H. Clawson, Jr. and his wife Martha of McConnells,SC; seven nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by a sister, Jean C. Agee.
