Union, SC Mrs. Charlene Annette “Sissy” Mitchell Gregory, 58, died Monday, December 13, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 17, 2021 at Wilksburg Baptist Church with Rev. Seth Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends immediately following the committal in the church cemetery. Mrs. Gregory was born March 20, 1963 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late William Mitchell and Molly Broome Mitchell. She was a graduate of Chester High School and The Chester Career Center Nursing Program.She was employed for many years with Chester County Hospital. Mrs. Gregory was a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church. Sissy was the best “grammy”. She loved and adored her family. She was also an avid and outspoken Gamecock Fan.Sissy was a straight talker and had the unique attribute to love deeply. She is survived by her husband of over 37 years Derrick Gregory; two children, Meagan Gregory (Jesse) of Union, SC and Cody Gregory (Destinee) of Chesnee, SC; two grandchildren, Ally Gregory and Judson Gregory both of Union, SC; sister-in-law’s, Debbie Campbell (Buzzy) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Suzanne Gregory of Chester, SC; brother-in-law, Johnny “Country” Gregory of Union, SC; very special friend, Jodie Crouch (Tommy) of Chester, SC. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her grandmother by whom she was reared, Anne Broome and her great aunt, Eula Mathis, brother, Robbie Mitchell, and her mother and father-in-law Bolden “Buddy” and Frances Gregory; and brother-in-law, Alan Gregory.
