Chester:Cecil J. Clack ,88, of Chester died Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Unihealth ?Post Acute Care of Rock Hill. He was the widower of the late Joyce McDonald Clack. A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM Friday, December 11, 2009, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Roddey officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A native of Chester, SC, Mr. Clack was born August 30, 1921, a son ofthe late Commodore and Ella Ramsey Clack. A veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during WWII in the Europian Theater, where he received the purple heart. He operated the Gulf Station in downtown Chester for 20 years and retired from Schlegel Corporation. Surviving are two daughters Judy Atwell of Atlanta, Ga., and Rachael Estes of Chester, four grandsons, Brad Estes of Chester, Todd, Chris, and Brian Atwell all of Atlanta, Ga.and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:00PM at Barron Funeral Home 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC, 29706. Memorials may be made to the charity of one?s choice.
