Cecil Leander Culp

Chester, SC:Cecil Leander Culp, Jr., 82, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC. The funeral service will be 4:00 PM Monday, May 16, 2011 at Barron Funeral Home with Brother John Eustler and Brother Art Whitsell officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mr. Culp was born in Lando, SC on July 29, 1928, a son of the late Cecil Leander Culp, Sr. and Ila Hedgepath Culp. He attended the schools of Chester County, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Cone Mills as a printer after over thirty-two years of service. Mr. Culp was the widower of Vivian Roof Culp and also an avid Atlanta Braves Fan. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mr. Culp is survived by two daughters; Sandra Hudson of Gastonia, NC and Judy Evans and her husband Dickie of Chester, SC; one son, Steve Culp and his wife Faye of Chester, SC; seven grandchildren, Brad Hudson, Rickie Evans, Laurie Hudson, Stephanie Berry, Amy Collins, Ashley Harkrader and Harrison Culp; nine great-grandchildren, Aaron Bradshaw, Matthews Evans, Hannah Hudson, Katelyn Berry, Ian Hudson, Tucker Evans, Ava Harkrader, Tyson Collins and Callahan Berry and one brother, James Culp of Chester, SC. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carrol and Walter Culp and two sisters, Dorothy Adams and Nedra Ferrell. A special thanks to his caretakers, Judy and Dickie and Sophie.
