Carolyn June Douglas Roberts

Chester Mrs. Carolyn June Douglas Roberts, 81, died Sunday, October 23, 2022 at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, SC. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tim Burriss officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside and other time at 1299 Oak Hill Rd, Chester, SC 29706. Mrs. Roberts was born August 23, 1941 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late John Douglas and Violet Mull Cameron. She was a graduate of Chester High School and was a homemaker. Carolyn was a member of Orr’s Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was also a leader of the “moms day out” group at Second Baptist Church. She was a great disciple of young Christians along with her late husband Olin. She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen R. Burriss (Tim) of Sanford, NC, Lynn R. Spoon (Rick) of Hickory, NC and Peggy R. Banks (Ace) of Chester, SC; three grandchildren, Sarah Schronce (Adam), Lindsay Barringer (Phillip) and Joel Burriss of Sanford, NC; three great-grandchildren, Delaney Schronce, Lottie Barringer and Hattie Schronce; one sister, Kathy Caine (Scott) of Chester, SC; one brother, Butch Cameron (Barbara) of Chester, SC; In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of over 62 years, Olin F. Roberts and her “Pop” Lindsay Cameron, Sr. by whom she was raised and basically the only father she knew. Memorials may be made to Baptist Children’s Home of NC, PO Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.
