CHESTER? Carol Gaston Pettus, 58, died Monday January 11, 2010 at Piedmont Medical Center. A funeral will be 11:00AM Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Compton officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery Mrs. Pettus was born October 25, 1951, in Chester, SC, a daughter of Betty Roof Gaston and the late L. Carl Gaston Jr. She was a graduate of Chester High School and was employed with F. Shumacher & Company for Sixteen years. Surviving are her mother Betty Roof Gaston of Lancaster, her husband Thomas M. Pettus, two daughters Stephanie McDowell and husband Bruce of Chester, Allison Brunet and husband Jonathan of Chester, three stepsons Thomas M. Pettus II of York, Adam Michael Pettus of Hawaii,Jason Scott Pettusof Chester, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild, two sisters Gail Granger and husband Hal of Great Falls, Cil Gregory and husband Hal of Fort Lawn. She was preceded in death by a brother Gene Gaston and a sister Diane McAbee.
