CHESTER Mr. C. Jerry Dickey, Sr, 87, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Springfield Place in Newberry, SC.The funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating.The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 7:30 PM Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home. Born June 14, 1923 in Chester, Mr. Dickey was the son of the late John Young Dickey and Janie Melinda Dickey.He attended the schools of Chester County and was a US Navy veteran of WWII.He was retired from Springs Industries as an Industrial Electrician and was a member of St. Paul?s Presbyterian Church. He was the widower of Dorothy "Dot" Austin Dickey. He is survived by one son, Chuck Dickey, Jr of Newport, TN; one daughter, Gwen Muriset and her husband Alan of Cumming, GA; five grandchildren, Jason Dickey of Bennettsville, SC, Seth Muriset of Chicago, IL, Jeff Dickey of Chapin, SC, Alice Muriset of Augusta, GA and Jenny Dickey of Little Mountain, SC and one sister, Cynthia D.
