Boyd Patrick Sample

CHESTER, SC Mr. Boyd Patrick Sample, 83, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at his residence.The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 18, 2014 at Parkway Baptist Church in Chesterwith Rev. Jay Dorsey officiating.The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church. The interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Greenwood, SC. Born June 10, 1931 in Saluda, SC, Mr. Sample was the son of the late George D.and Olga Sheppard Sample.He attended Saluda High School and was a retired Insurance agent with Independent Life Insurance Company.Mr. Sample was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post # 27. He was survived by one grandson, Christopher P. Sample of Saluda, SC; two granddaughters, Brandi L. Sample of Lexington, SC and Summer Sample of Hodges, SC; two great-grandsons, Brennon Sample andZayne Sample both ofNinety-Six, SC several nieces and nephews and his special friend Ann Graham of Chester. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his son, Jody P. Sample, three sisters and one brother.
