Bobby Gerald Gibson

Bobby Gerald Gibson, 80, died Saturday, March 28, 2026 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Nalley, Rev. Michael Shaffer and Crystal Garrigus officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, April 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Barron Funeral Home.

Born November 6, 1945 in Chester, SC, he was a son of the late James Gilbert Gibson and Pastelle Connor Gibson. Bobby attended Chester High School and was a graduate of the GED program through the military. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Vietnam. He was retired as owner and operator of West End Tires. Bobby was a member of First Baptist Church Lowrys where he formerly led the RA program. He loved preparing the Veteran float for Lowrys Christmas parade and enjoyed breakfast with his veteran friends. Bobby was an avid gardener and avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Clowney Gibson; one daughter, Crystal Garrigus (Brian) of Dallas, TX; one son, Ryan Gibson of York, SC;  grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, and Kaitlyn all of Texas; two daughters and one son, whom he loved as his own, Niki Long (Michael) of Rock Hill, SC, Krissi Eaves (Doug) of Chester, SC and Lee Wade of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Kovie, Braelyn, Curt, Kynlee, Ava and Jayden; and four great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Edlis (Steve) of The Villages, FL; a special niece, Stacey Heflin; numerous other nieces and nephews; and special veteran friends, Joe Sanders and Johnny Mobley. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathy Ewing Gibson and his brother, Donald Ray Gibson.
