Bobby Gene Baker

Chester, SC: Bobby Gene Baker, 85, died Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 6, 2022 at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Clay Waldrip officiating. the family will receive friends also Monday at Barron from 10:00 am until 11:00 AM. Mr. Baker was born in Chester, SC on August 8, 1936 and was a son of the late Gordon Baker and Effie Phillips Baker. He was a graduate of Chester High School. Bobby was a member of the South Carolina Army National Guard. He attended First Baptist Church, Chester and was an avid Gamecock fan. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of over fifty-nine years, Frances Campbell Baker and three sisters and three brothers. He is survived by four children, Robert C. "Chris" Baker (Page), Eric S. Baker (Phyllis) and Michael L. Baker (Kelley) all of Chester, SC and Lisa Baker Shirley (Scott) of Blackstock, SC; eight grandchildren, Renee, Jennifer, Matthew, Haley, Thomas, Katherine, Rachel and J.P.; seven great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Anna Beth, Luca, Maya, Lauren, Reed and Letty and numerous nieces and nephews.
