Blane Leslie Boulware, 75, of Chester, South Carolina, passed away on July 4, 2026, at MUSC Chester, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on December 20, 1950, in Chester, Blane was the son of the late Clarence and Edith Boulware. He attended Chester County Schools where he enjoyed playing football and even drove a school bus during his school years. Blane proudly served his country in the United States Army before continuing his service in the National Guard. Following his military service, Blane spent more than 40 years as a long haul truck driver.
Blane was a member of Cool Branch Baptist Church and attended Woodward Baptist Church. He was a lifelong automobile enthusiast whose passion for cars was known by all who knew him. A proud member of the Chester Drag Racing Association, Blane could often be found talking about cars, working on them or attending local racing events. He also enjoyed listening to Chester’s own 90.3 WRBK and anyone who rode with him knew they would be treated to a soundtrack of oldies and beach music.
Above all, Blane cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose love and steady presence will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, Blane was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Bradley Boulware; and his brothers, Eddie Boulware, Jimmy Boulware, and Andy Boulware.
Blane shared 52 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife and best friend, Glennie McWatters Boulware. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, perseverance and unwavering devotion.
Left to cherish his memory along with his wife are his sister, Ann Delancey (Wayne); his brother, Ivy Boulware (Tammy); his son, Charles “Chuck” Boulware (Hope); his daughter, Alicia “Lisa” Boulware Jennings (Jamie); his grandchildren, Megan Suber (Dayton), Will Hutchins (Baylee), Avery Watts (Tarra), Cayden Lloyd (Chad), and Will Betts; seven treasured great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Blane also leaves behind three lifelong friends whom he considered brothers, Keith Hudspeth, Ricky Etters, and Butch Burton. He is also remembered by Brady and Ben Bell whom he cared for greatly.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Woodward Baptist Church from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM with a Celebration of Life service officiated by Rev. Keith Hinson immediately following at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private.
In honor of Blane’s lifelong love of automobiles and racing, the family requests that anyone who owns an old race car, drag car, or classic car drive it to the service as a tribute to his memory.
