CHESTER – Mrs. Beverly Gough Robinson, 59, died on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at MUSC Lancaster. She was surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 4, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Chester, SC with the Rev Clay Waldrip officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Robinson was born in Chester, SC on March 26, 1962, the daughter of Samuel Worthy and Mary Britton Gough. She attended the schools of Chester County and graduated from First Baptist Church School in Charleston in 1979. She later graduated from Winthrop University with a degree in Sociology. Beverly moved to Edisto Beach where she managed multiple restaurants. She was also instrumental in founding The Crab Crack on Edisto, which benefited the Edisto Beach Volunteer Fire Department. She loved live music, Edisto Beach, the Clemson Tigers, and her many friends and family; she liked to cook but always preferred her mama’s cooking. She was most proud of being a mother and grandmother. Beverly is survived by her husband, Robert Robinson; her daughter, Brittany Hatch Reed (Daniel) of Charleston; her son, Jackson Griffis Hatch (Kelly) of Charleston; her stepdaughter, Courtney Montgomery Robinson of Camden ; her stepdaughter, Sarah Robinson Riddle (Chase) of Rock Hill; five grandchildren, Benjamin Lee Reed, Oliver Griffis Hatch, Lillian Alston Reed, Penelope Rose Hatch, all of Charleston, and Joseph Wyatt Riddle of Rock Hill; three brothers, Samuel Leonard Gough (Jane), Samuel Worthy Gough Jr. (Jill), and James Britton Gough Sr. (Nancy), and many other family members, including her beloved nieces, nephew, and cousins.
