Chester Mrs. Betty Peay Wages, 87, died Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Chester Regional Nursing Center.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rick Wheeler officiating.Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 23, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. Wages was born July 29, 1930 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late George Washington Peay and Bessie Massey Peay.She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries.Mrs. Wages was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two sisters, Rosie P. McKeown of Chester and Evelyn P. Bridges of Rock Hill; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Reese of Chester; one granddaughter, Katherine Fischer of Chester; one great granddaughter, Tessa Fischer; one great grandson, Wyatt Fischer; and several nieces and nephews.Mrs. Wages was preceded in death by her husband, Richard O. Wages; one son, Richard David Wages; five brothers; two sisters; and a nephew, whom she reared, Douglas Edward Peay.
