CHESTER Mrs. Betty Carol Rawls McCrorey, 87, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Harbor Chase Assisted Livingin Rock Hill, SC.The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Gindhart officiating with the interment at Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 10:00 am ? 10:45 am Monday at Bethel United Methodist Church. Born September 20, 1924 in Rock Hill, SC, Mrs. McCrorey was a daughter of the late Palmer Harrison Rawls and Bessie Byrd Rawls.She was a graduate ofWinthrop College and was a retired English teacher having taught at Chester High School and Chester Middle School. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she also taught Sunday School. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Thomas Carlisle McCrorey; one daughter, Carol Anne McNellis and her husband Thomas of West Chester, PA; one grandson, Ryan McNellis of Princeton University, NJ; and one brother, Curtis Hilton Rawls of Rock Hill, SC.She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lauren McNellis, a brother, Grady Cole Rawls and a sister, Helen Rawls Knight.
