Prosperity, SC:Betty Jo Payne Bishop Smith, 85, died Friday, November 2, 2018 at Providence Health in Columbia, SC.A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 5, 2018 at Lando Cemetery, Lando, SC with Reverend Ronnie Greene officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Born in Chester County, SC on May 8, 1933, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Benjamin F. Payne and Katie Belle (Brooks) Payne. She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Manetta Mills, Lando, SC.Mrs. Smith was ofthe Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Smith and husband O’Neal Bishop; son Tony Bishop and two grandsons, Frankie Payne and Dana Harper. Mrs. Smith is survived by one daughter, Betty Ann Bishop Bellue(Ronnie) of Chester, SC; two sons, Steve Bishop (Lilly) of Rock Hill, SC and Johnny Payne (Diane) of Lando, SC; three grandchildren, Ronnie Dale “Hotshot” Bellue of Chester, SC, Gary Harper of Caughman, TX and Clay Bishop of North Carolina; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Nelson of Chester, SC, Johnny F. Payne of Edgemoor, SC and Lilly Payne of Lando, SC and one sister, Faye Dodgen of Greenwood, SC. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 173 Columbia Street, Chester, SC 29706.
