Betty Proctor Bigham

Pelion, SC Mrs. Betty Proctor Bigham, 85, died Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Rapha Residential Care in Gaston, SC.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating.Interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. Bigham was born November 16, 1929 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late Robert Ford Proctor and Ila Hicks Proctor.She was a graduate of Chester High School and a homemaker who enjoyed baking and sharing her goodies with others.She also enjoyed crocheting baby blankets which she donated to the Children’s Hospital.Mrs. Bigham was a member of Chester Freedom Ministries. She is survived by one son, Robert W Bigham (Kathy) of Lexington; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth “Lib” Grant of Chester; one nephew, Lee Proctor of Blacksburg; one niece, Janet Gentry of Anderson; and a son-in-law, Wayne Barrs of Pelion.Mrs. Bigham was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Bigham, Sr.; a son, William E. Bigham, Jr.; a daughter, Cheryl Bigham Barrs; and a brother, Robert “Bobby” Proctor. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Fresenius Dialysis of Batesburg-Leesville and Davita Gaston Dialysis, St. Matthews Transportation and also to Rapha Residential Care of Gaston.
