Newberry, SC Mrs. Betty Sue Austin, 74, died Friday, October 27, 2017 at her home.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC.The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Barron Funeral Home. The interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, SC. Born March 27, 1943 in Chester, SC, Mrs. Austin was a daughter of the late James Bartley Hinson, Sr. and Mary Wallace Hinson.She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from U.S. Securities as a supervisor.Betty attended Calvary Pentacostal Church in Newberry, SC.She was a mother to three generations having raised children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband of over twenty-nine years Kenneth L. Austin, a brother James Bartley “J.B.”Hinson,Jr and a sister Mary V. Wright. She is survived three sons, Bart Hinson of Hepzibah, GA, William “Cotton” Hinson of Newberry, and Chase James Austin of Newberry ; one daughter, Alexis Marie Austin of Newberry; six grandchildren, Kristi James, Matt Hinson (Jenn), Josh Hinson, Cynthia Hinson, James Hinson and Elizabeth Hinson; seven great grandchildren, Ethan, Aryssa, Emma, Skyler, Zeplin, Phoenix and Peyton; step-son, Winford Austin of California; one brother, Jimmy Hinson (Joyce) of Chester, SC; one sister, Kathleen Gillispe of Fort Mill, SC; several nieces and nephews and special friends April and Fenley Wix of Newberry and Stephanie Blinn of Newberry.
