Bernice Emily Roddey Miller

Bernice Emily Roddey Miller, 93, died Friday, August 15, 2025, at Lancaster Grove Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating. Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home.

Mrs. Miller was born January 18,1932 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late Belvin Barber Roddey, Sr. and Juanita Emily Dunn Roddey. She was a graduate of Chester High School Class of 1950 and retired from Kimbrell's Furniture.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Walker "Jim" Miller; three brothers, B.B. Roddey, Jr., Harry W. Roddey and Carlisle Roddey; two sisters, Aileen R. Knox and Eloise R. Bagley; three nephews, infant Michael Thomas Roddey, Rick Franklin and Chuck Bagley; and a niece, Harriett McGee.

She is survived by nephews, John C. Roddey and Lee Roddey (Pam) both of Chester and nieces, Debbie Williams (Howard) and Donna Hagins (Mike) both of Lancaster, Cindy Hughes (Dean) of Heath Springs, Barbara Ledbetter (Wayne) of Columbia and Suzanne Combs (Eddie) of Gilbert; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lancaster and the Piedmont, 901 W Meeting Street, Ste. 104, Lancaster SC 29720.
