Mrs. Barbara Jean Porter, 74, died October 7, 2010 at the Chester Regional Nursing Center.A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Reverend John Porter officiating. Born in Chester, SC on January 18, 1937, Mrs. Porter was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Christine Powers Simmons.She attended the schools of Chester County and the First Church of The Nazarene.She was a retired office clerk with Pearce Young Angel. She is survived by two sons, Gary Porter of Chester and Scott Porter of Georgia.Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her husband James Vernon Porter.
